It is extremely sad, at least for me, how the current economic situation can produce benefits for a limited number of people. It is even sadder to see how humanity seems to have been vanished from all those souls that now remain empty. It is also sad how words such as friendship, love and peace have been destroyed from the lexicon. Now only a selected group of words are the stars: money, power, control...
We are going back in time. Today, with the excuse of the economic crisis, everything has to be 'cut'. No matter if we are talking about people's health system or if we are talking about education, workers' rights, women's rights, LGBT rights, children's rights, etc. No, these elements and many others are not important anymore.
I think there's an enormous interest in not going out of the crisis. It's better this way. Masses are controlled, rich people are richer and poor people are poorer. And if you combine this with an impressive and perfect control of the mass media, yeah, you're right (of course, if you want to be less democratic).
In fact, democracy is just like the island of Utopia. We are supposed to live in democracies, oh sure, the great civilisation, the Western culture... is this really true? Do we really live in democracies when we can choose our representatives from time to time? Let me say something, I don't think so...
And if there is something even even sadder than all the things mentioned above, that's resignation. If you think that people is much worse in Iran than you are in Spain, yes, I'm sure that's true, but that doesn't matter you don't have to fight for the rights gained in the past, those rights that were achieved thanks to the fight of our ancestors, because they didn't resign and wanted to build a better country.
There are people that feel better thinking that others are worse than them. That can work in the beginning (I don't share that idea) but, what happens later? If everybody thought that way, then we wouldn't try to get anything. Whatever we did, there would always be people in a worse situation than us.
If this is not stopped, we will be going back in time continuously... I'm sure there are a lot of people and institutions (some of them even considering themselves coming from Heaven) that would love a new Middle Ages time...
